LOS ANGELES, CA – OCTOBER 29, 2025 – Amber Mark has always been an artist who wears her heart on her sleeve. With her new album, Pretty Idea, which came out October 10th, the singer-songwriter takes listeners through an emotional yet up-beat journey that is sure to make you dance and cry at the same time.
Following the release of her newest single “Let Me Love You” at the end of August, Amber announced that her next album, Pretty Idea, would be a representation of “many highs and lows and lessons I didn’t know I needed.” At a recent virtual press conference with °1824, Mark opened up about the inspiration behind the album title. Written during a time of heartbreak and intense self-reflection, she shared that this album allowed her to work through these heavy regrets and decisions, turning her “bad ideas into pretty ones.”
When Cherry Pop Records asked how she hopes Pretty Idea resonates with young listeners, especially those navigating early adulthood, Mark explained that her music explores emotions that transcend age.
“Those types of subject matters like heartbreak and all of that are things we experience all our lives, regardless of what age we are,” she shared. “Conceptually, the project ends on a note that’s really about self-exploration and self-growth. That’s so important to anybody in school or at the age you guys are at.”
Across Pretty Idea, Mark blends soulful R&B with glittery production and her signature warmth. The album’s balance between intimate and expansive sound reflects the emotional balance she’s created for herself in this process. But at its core, Mark says, the album is about something much simpler: learning to be okay with who you are.
“We’re constantly growing and learning about ourselves and how we handle certain situations,” she said. “That’s really what the album comes down to at its foundation.”
With Pretty Idea, Amber Mark gives us the much-needed reminder that there is no timeline on self-growth. No matter how linear we would like it to be, finding oneself might come when you least expect it, and even through hard times, there is beauty in what comes next.
Pretty Idea is available now on all major streaming platforms.
